I visited the church at Staður on my second trip to Reykhólar in September, as part of my loop journey around the westfjords to see what the roads are really like. Staður is at the end of the road on the peninsula, and there is a ferry stop there, as well as a smoke where lamb and fish are smoked. The church dates back to the mid-1800s. It isn´t used much any longer, except for major events, such as funeral and weddings. I can´t locate my notebook presently so, let me post some photos and come back to the text when I can find my notes.
